The Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a visionary and results-driven person to lead our dynamic organization into its next chapter of impact and innovation. This is an exceptional opportunity for a strategic leader who is passionate about economic development, business advocacy, and community connection.
About the Role:
As President, you will serve as the chief executive of the Chamber, guiding strategy, operations, partnerships, and member services. You will champion the interests of our business community, foster key economic initiatives—like our Manufacturing cohort—and ensure organizational excellence through sound financial and operational management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the Chamber’s annual Strategy to Action Plan.
- Lead economic development efforts, including the Manufacturing Cohort initiative.
- Ensure operational effectiveness through smart resource management and efficient processes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders, government entities, and regional partners.
- Serve as the primary spokesperson and public representative of the Chamber.
- Partner with the Board of Directors to shape vision, align strategy, and coordinate impactful board meetings.
- Oversee staff leadership, performance, and compliance to maintain a strong workplace culture.
- Lead major fundraising events, such as the Gala Dinner, Anoka Riverfest, and Chamber Golf Tournament.
- Champion clear communication across all stakeholder groups.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent leadership experience preferred.
- Proven success in leading a Chamber of Commerce, non-profit, or mission-driven organization.
- Strong grasp of public policy, economic development, and member services.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and organizational abilities.
- Experience in fundraising and event leadership.
- A collaborative, proactive, and mission-aligned mindset.
Work Environment:
This position is based in a professional office setting with regular interaction in the community. Some evening and weekend availability is required for events and meetings.
